So what records did I leave off this list that you think should be on there? My Morning Jacket, Fleet Foxes, The Killers, etc. Post your suggestions. Would love to know which records rocked your world in 2008!
Also, don't forget to send in new music via the Soundcloud DropBox, it's a link at the top of this blog.

Hello, this classification is really good and I guess it must have been difficult to select only 20 albums!
I know that I'd rather made a bigger and longer one!
So I would have add :
"Fleet foxes"
"The do"
"The broken west"
"scarlett johansson"
"Santogold"
"The last shadow puppets"
"Of Montreal"
also the new albums of Bon Iver, The dodos and She & Him.
But anyway for me the bigwinner of the year is definitly MGMT !
But I have to discover some of the artists that you've put !
Anyway great classification!
I for one am glad to see a top 20 list that doesn't have the fleet foxes. I liked it, but not as much as the collective. A few that I would have had on my personal favs list, although maybe not top 20 material...
"Adele - 19" - great, soulful, pop - the girl has some killer pipes
"Noah & the Whale - Peaceful etc..." - a little cutesy, kind of earthy, Calexico(ish) but a tiny bit more poppy in arrangement and stylings
"Why? - Alopecia" - lyrically not my cup o tea, but musically really inventive
Yeah Kami, as you said, My Morning Jacket's "Evil Urges" was awesome. I also had to pick up that Ray Lamontagne & Duffy album (Duffy mainly because of you). I think Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago" would've made it onto mine (they have a new EP out *hint hint wink wink*), Grupo Fantasma - Sonidos Gold, Gnarls Barkley - The Odd Couple, and Theivery Corporation - Radio Retaliation, and Muse - HAARP (because I'm kind of a Muse whore) are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.
Nice list. I woudl have added:
M83 - Saturdays = Youth
Conor Oberst - Conor Oberst
The Killers - Day and Age
My morning Jacket - Evil Urges
The Verve - Forth
